Old Virginia Blog

WBTS & historical musings, wandering thoughts, book comments, and an occasional rant from the backroads and byways of Old Virginia from Civil War author Richard G. Williams, Jr - one of the few remaining men who has actually lived in Virginia all his life. :)

Global Warming

Well, the Shenandoah Valley was blanketed with about 4 inches of global warming Sunday night and we are expecting another 4 inches tomorrow night. This apocalypse also affected our horse's water trough with a couple of inches of ice. The warming trend is to continue tonight with highs in the lower teens - whoa! - crank up the AC! Seriously though, the Valley is beautiful with its fresh blanket of snow and the Christmas season is in full swing: the smell of fresh baked goodies in my wife's kitchen, decorations up everywhere, normally docile women pummeling each other in Wal-Mart- ah, the wonder of it all! I did finish the book about Jackson and his Sunday-school class and it is in the publisher's hand. The manuscript is also being reviewed by 3 historians to get their perspective. Watch the Wash. Times' Civil War page this Saturday for a preview!
